What is PhpMyRes?

PhpMyRes is a possibility for small and medium sized hotels, pensions or holiday homes to keep track of room reservations and guest data. The system is based on a MySQL database the frontend is running on PHP technoligy

    Motivation

    I wrote PhpMyRes for the hotel of my parents. I am not a programmer, but I work as a restaurant manager in a hotel! I gained everything I know over PHP and MySQL during the work on PhpMyRes. I ask all professional programmers, to bear that in mind while reading the code (hopefully). I made strong progress, am however still rank as a beginner. Surly there is A LOT space for improvements in the code. However the script works so far and I hope I could find all major bugs of the functions running at the moment. There will be more bugfixing and probably some more functions be done when PhpMyRes will be used, which will happen in September

    What do I need?

    To run PhpMyRes you need a Web server e.g. Apache which is able to interpret PHP. In addition a MySQL data base is needed. Of course a Linux server would be the best choice. For unexperienced Windows useres EasyPhp might be the easiest and securest way to install Apache Mysql and Php on a Windows machine. One should have a little background knowledge anyway. I might write a little guide to phpmyres for inexperienced users. Untill then conntact me at seballa@users.sourcefoge.net.

  • The variable delivery must be reprogrammed (get and post variables are not used at this stage
  • a starting site with links to all functions and some cute pictures would be nice
  • A Openoffice file wih Access to the Database to automate the correspondence
